The City of Victoria is using the Pello sensors to measure public waste and recycling container contamination levels using the multispectral camera system. Victoria has recently expanded the on-street collection system to include both waste, mixed containers, and organic waste, the Pello sensors provide a scaleable and automated method of monitoring the contents of the material collected. As part of an organization-wide commitment to sustainable operations, the city is continually striving to improve waste diversion and reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill.
